![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What I'm more curious about is what, if any, bug fixes are in the new version 3/2021. I too have been on 11/2020 since I took delivery. Of course we have no idea of what a service tech is doing when he is in your car. But was very clear that updates CANNOT be skipped, so depending on how old a version in in a particular vehicle had, it has to be updated step by step from oldest to newest. My service manager was referring to OTA updates. it's obviously not a very good or reliable system in terms of rollout. nobody has been able to ascertain the exact methodology BMW uses when pushing OTA updates to us. like you mentioned, some folks on 07/2020 still haven't received an update notification to 11/2020. I've been on 11/2020 since i took delivery of my 45e last Dec, but i don't expect to get notification of the 03/2021 OTA update any time soon. (i'm not certain what method is used at the dealerships.) I'm just going to hold tight at 11/2020, I have no problem at all with my X5 to date.ĭid he say that specifically about OTA updates? i wanna say there have been folks who skipped iStep versions, but at the dealership because of ongoing service issues, or maybe not. That doesn't explain why everyone was not informed of an update from 7/2020 to 11/2020. For those that are still on 7/2020, my service manage told me that to go to the latest 3/2021, you must first go from 7/2020 to 11/2020 and then to 3/2021 or it will not update.
